We strive to offer a menu that makes the most of our location – a stone’s throw from the Sound of Mull, and in the middle of a great Highland estate. We offer relaxed dining where the emphasis is on everything being freshly prepared. Our food is good, honest and not over the top.
Children are well catered for, with our own burgers, fishcakes, homemade pizzas and locally caught Fish & Chips always on offer.
Weather permitting, locally caught seafood features on the daily changing menu. When available our beef, lamb, venison and mutton come directly from the Ardnamurchan Estate, with pork supplied by local crofters. Vegetables, herbs and salad are grown locally whenever possible, with some provided by John our estate gardener, and some from the nearby Kilchoan community garden.
We provide daily Specials based on what’s in season and what’s good at any particular time of year. Tried and tested hearty dishes such as Grilled ‘Old Spot’ Pork Chops, Estate Venison Steaks, Skate Mornay and Coq au Vin sit alongside old favourites like Fish & Chips and Steak & Stout Pie. Vegetarians are also catered for as we offer at least one vegetarian dish on a daily basis.
Breakfast is given equal attention with grilled kippers from John Ross Jr. or the stupendous Kilchoan Grill featuring Macleod & Macleod black pudding from Stornoway and Higginson’s famous Pork Sausage from Cumbria setting you up for the day ahead.
The quaint small dining room looks down towards Mull and has a landscaped terrace for al fresco eating, or a cheeky sundowner.
All of our wines are supplied by Philippe Larue at renowned wine supplier l’Art du Vin, the stablemate of Adelphi Whisky. Philippe only buys wine from small independent producers so quality is assured. Our wine list is small but all the wines are personally chosen by Philippe to complement the style of food that we offer at the inn.
